Abstract
In this article, the authors focus on three instructional strategies: differentiating instruction, encouraging students' intrinsic motivation, and using an affirming form of correcting student errors. Each of these strategies is embedded in real-life scenarios teachers often face. The authors then discuss research-based and classroom-tested strategies teachers can use to respond to the scenario.
