Abstract
This study examined the associations between Hispanic English learners' (ELs) academic performance, family engagement, and teacher empowerment. The study's sample included 339 Hispanic ELs, their parents, and 40 teachers. The findings indicated family engagement has a positive impact on their children's academic performance while teachers' empowerment, if focused only on professional knowledge attainment, only has a negative impact on students' academic performance.
