Developing Bilingualism and Biliteracy in Early and Middle Childhood

The author of this article summarizes the research on bilingual and biliterate development in childhood and discusses how bilingualism impacts children's language and literacy development. Some common myths about bilingualism such as all bilinguals are equally proficient in both languages, and that bilingualism delays language acquisition are dispelled.
