This research paper focuses on the need for bilingual special education teachers to undergo additional training during their teacher preparation programs. The author identified five main areas for success for bilingual special education teachers. These areas were then verified in a study of 100 educators as being important components to their teaching success. The author also gives recommendations on what additional information should be included in teacher preparation programs to help create successful bilingual special education teachers.
