Abstract
In 2006, the Arizona ELL Task Force began implementing a Structured English Immersion (SEI) program for ELs. This study investigated the success of SEI implementation over the past 10 years by surveying coordinators and teachers using SEI. The results indicated that SEI was easy to implement, but there were many barriers such as limited access to language acquisition, deficient model approach, classification concerns, limited access to high school graduation, and others. Respondents said changes needed to be made to SEI.
