Abstract

This two-part podcast from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) is hosted by Beatriz Ceja, Deputy Assistant Secretary at OELA, and addresses topics associated with English learners’ access to postsecondary education. The podcast features an exceptional panel of experts: Dr. Yasko Kano, Professor of Language Education at Boston University; Dr. Sam Riggs, Principal Researcher at Education Northwest; Dra. J. Joy Esquierdo, Interim Vice Provost for the Office for Bilingual Integration at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley; and Dr. Jason Greenberg-Motamedi, Senior Researcher at Education Northwest.

In Part II of the podcast Dra. Esquierdo talks about her university’s efforts to support students’ success through a bilingual, Bicultural, and Biliterate (B3) Scholar Seal. Her presentation is followed by a Q&A session for all panelists facilitated by Dr. Greenberg-Motamedi.
