Abstract

In 2021, the Department of Education awarded $2.8M+ in grants under the Native American and Alaska Native Children in School (NAM) Discretionary Grants Program. The funds will be used to support Native American students who are English learners.

The FY2021 NAM recipients included grantees from six states. Montana, South Dakota, and Oklahoma were awarded two grants, and Alaska, Arizona, and Minnesota were awarded one grant. These grants are a great resource for promoting equity and addressing outcome disparities for Native American & Alaska Native students.
