This episode of Information Elevated explores new data on English learners (ELs) with disabilities from the Office of English Language Acquisition’s 2020–22 Biennial Report. The total number of English learners (ELs) identified as having a disability in school year 2020–21 was 800,592 students, or nearly 1 in 6 identified ELs (16.1 percent). This number increased to 832,248 students, representing 15.8 percent of all identified ELs, in school year 2021–22.
