The Common Core Challenge for English Language Learners

This article focuses on the challenges of implementing CCSS with EL students. Currently, the supports needed to help ELs are considered beyond the scope of the Standards. The authors provide suggested guidelines for school leaders and teachers to promote high levels of content and language learning for ELs through instruction in the content areas and promoting ELP.
