Abstract
This study examines the stories or reflective narratives of teachers. This paper reports a qualitative case study of three veteran teachers' reflections on their personal and professional experiences with ELs. Data analysis revealed the teachers' different strengths and needs when working with ELs. Four major dimensions (language, culture, culturally and linguistically sensitive pedagogy, and collaborative community) were identified as critical to effectively teaching ELs, and for the preparation of second language teachers.
