Abstract
Dual language learners (DLLs) under 8 years of age stand to benefit disproportionately from high-quality early childhood education and care (ECEC), but are less likely than their peers to be enrolled in such programspotentially contributing to lags in kindergarten readiness and later academic achievement. This series of fact sheets offer a sociodemographic sketch of the DLL population at both the national level and in the 30 states with the most DLLs, as well as an overview of the relevant policies states have introduced.
