Abstract
This study examines 35 schools who received School Improvement Grants from 2010-11 through 2012-13. The study highlights the results of the analysis of 11 schools with high proportion of ELs and how schools worked to improve their teachers' capacity to teach ELs through staffing changes and professional development. Teachers in these schools reported that increased professional development on ELs improved their ability to teach ELs.
