We at OELA are excited to announce that we will be holding a webinar on "Raise the Bar: How Community-Based Schools Can Contribute to the Multilingual Landscape" on Thursday, May 30th at 2:00 pm Eastern time. The webinar will feature Montserrat Garibay, Assistant Deputy Secretary and Director for the Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) at the U.S. Department of Education, who will discuss the importance of heritage language education in light of OELA’s “Raise the Bar” call to action. Additionally, representatives from three heritage language schools will provide a brief overview of what their schools are engaged in and accomplishing. We will provide time for questions and discussion of OELA’s Call to Action in the language field.
This will be a unique opportunity to learn about OELA’s work as it relates to heritage language schools!
