The Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to recognize and honor the contributions of Hispanic communities to our nation. Our goal is to ensure that teachers and administrators have the resources they need to support Hispanic students and their families, not just this school year, but for years to come. It is important to note that the U.S. Hispanic population reached 62.1 million in 2020, making up 19% of the total U.S. population and ranking as the nation’s second-largest racial or ethnic group. This statistic highlights the importance of supporting the growing community. In this blog, explore a curated list of OELA’s resources that can contribute to the educational success of Hispanic English learners (ELs).
